the aftermath of hurricane Kiana
Mar. 29th, 2006 10:25 amTwo large garbage bags have been completely filled with the stuff that had formerly been lying all over Kia's room. At least she had the decency to put it all in one place before she left. She even cleaned up some of the messes on the carpet. Like the big splotch of white... stuff that had been left under the bed.
We appear to be missing some of our cutlery, which has been gradually disappearing since K's been here. Mom suspects it got thrown in the garbage. And the sheet we'd put on her bed is gone, probably either taken with her or thrown out. Mom says it had a huge stain on it, though, some of which passed on to the bed liner, so I didn't doubt her.
I think even my mom has seen how depressed I have been because of how everything turned out. She's taking me out for lunch and shopping with her this afternoon. To cheer me up, I suppose.
One thing that this all has brought me is that my mom and I are so much closer than we've ever been before.
Randomly, this Danny Kaye album I got is awesome. There's a number of songs on it that I remember from childhood. He even sings this one song that I'd only ever heard my mom sing before. (She used to sing it to me when I was little.) You can tell his songs were meant for younger listeners, they're so cute. If I ever have kids, they so get to listen to this album like all the time.
