gnutmeg: (snob)
My parents asked what restaurant I wanted for my birthday dinner. (We had one w/ family tonight since I'll be w/ friends tomorrow and working on my actual birthday.) I said I was in the mood for seafood, thinking they'd take us to Red Lobster. (Which is, you know, good.) Instead my parents said they'd take us to this other place that they'd heard good things about. A "real" seafood place.

For the most part, the food there was either fried or just plain fish or pasta. (FYI: fried food often upsets my tummy, I'm not a big fan of fish as much as I like other sea food and usually won't order it because I only eat a little of it, and I am NOT a pasta person.) I ended up deciding on getting fried scallops, since the only salad that I would even consider eating was caeser. (Which is something I never order from restaurants, ever since I found out about the one resto that used bacon fat IN the dressing). Yeah. So I got a tummy ache. My sister finished my scallops. My brother ate my fries. They didn't even have any half-decent desserts that I could have ordered to make up for the sucky meal. Plus it was expensive. (Ok, dad paid, but.) nutmeg is not a happy camper right now.

As we walked out after dinner, my sister and I decided we would much rather have gone to Red Lobster.

P.S. Thank the gods for autodrafts, since netscape decided to crash on me just as I finished typing. Hope this isn't a sign of how my actual birthday is going to go.
