greeting cards?

I'm thinking about starting a small business, but I'm not sure if I'll really do well enough to make it worth the costs of starting it. (It's about $500 CAD to get everything I need to start, which means I'd have to sell about 350 cards (or 34 dozens) to break even.) So just give me some input if you think this is a realistic idea. Comments are appreciated, too. And, of course, if I do open it, I'd love if people would spread the word on about my cards. (Well, if ya like 'em!)

For those curious, the cards will be a mix of genres, some photos, some hand drawn, some painted. Most will be the taller format of cards, and of course would all come with a free envelope.

Tonight's supper is a chick pea salad I made up as I went along:

1 can chick peas
1 can baby corn
1 large macintosh apple (cut into chunks)
2 large mushrooms
handful of sliced almonds
2 tbsp corn syrup
1 tsp soy sauce


Mix chick peas, corn, and apple pieces in a bowl. Lightly sauté mushrooms and almonds at low heat in veg. oil, mixing in corn syrup and soy sauce. Pour over other ingredients and mix well.


I think it would be even better with pasta in it, though.
