It's been around a few times... Admittedly there are things I want far more that I've left off this list, but they're too private.

Step One:

- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two:

- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

If you've done this already, link me to it. I'll see what I can do for ya, k?

Year in Review Meme
Take the first sentence (or 2) from the first post of each month of 2006.

January: So. First day back at class.

February: [Photo of my nails.] It's been a while since I've made a real entry, hasn't it? I apologize.

March: Tonight, my boyfriend will be going home. This makes me sad.

April: While enjoying LJ's April 1 joke for the year, and looking over some of the comments, I noticed a strange comment about ads on LJ. I kinda stopped and went "wtf?" then went to do so more research.

May: No one does abject loneliness as well as Bowie. No one.

June: 14 days until my birthday. 31 days until camp. 76 days until Europe.

July: It's taken me a bit to get out of bed this morning, as I seem to have a massive headache. But still, I can't help but smiling this morning, which is partially Jeremy's fault, but not completely.

August: I was awoken in the middle of the night by a dream that Jeremy messaged me on AIM. I sat up in bed (to go answer, I guess?) and realized it wasn't real... then felt a wave of sadness and just curled back into bed.

September: This morning, I finally managed to pull a splinter out of my hand that had been bothering me for days. As I looked at the tiny speck that had caused me so much pain, I couldn't help but marvel at it.

October: I may not have a lot of nice things to say about life, at the moment. But I can say that I think I look really rather good as a redhead.

November: I'm not being particularly good to myself right now, but I don't fucking care. I want this.

December: I've always known my bird, Fuu, was entirely too smart for her own good. She's now figured out how to escape from her new cage by pushing her food dish out of the way and crawling through the (tiny!) hole.
