I can't decide whether this is the best or worst thing I've ever written. It's bizarre, that's for certain. (I unlocked it if you're curious but don't really want to friend my writing journal.)

Oh, and:

A random thought occurred to me today whilst I was eating my supper. I was thinking to myself about a little tidbit for one of my stories, about how the dead are always hungry in my world, and then I stopped. You know, there are a LOT of cultures that have the idea of the hungry dead. And I don't just mean like the idea of zombies or vampires or w/e. I mean like the old custom of leaving out bread & milk for the fae in the British Isles, or the Buddhist custom of leaving rice/cakes/whatever it is for the dead.

I wonder where this belief comes from? I mean, I named only a couple but I'm sure there are lots more. Although I'm fairly interested in mythology I don't know all mythos super well. I'm curious in other customs that have to do with feeding/hungry dead! If you know of some, please share. (Links are cool, too.) Also? Your thoughts on the origin of this belief?

...I think this calls for my jiang shi icon. XD
