gnutmeg: (light)
to you I am nothing
a mere grain of sand
but you should be more careful
a single speck in the eye can blind

a shifting grain
beneath the foundations of your fortress
could send it tumbling
like rubbish

or an avalanche, crushing and final
can be started
by a single unhappy pebble
trying to break away
gnutmeg: (light)
home is the firelight
under night skies
and the smell of smoke
drifting through my hair
it is the stars peeking out
between the trees
and the raven calling the moon

home is rain on my skin
soaking through clothing
and singing with the thunder
without fear
it's in love with sun and clouds
with land and sea
and the freedom of flight

home is found down every road
the further I go
each step binds the heart
finding belonging in the hunt
persuing each dream
like a breath of air
in search of truer life
