::: Bones :::
Oct. 25th, 2008 09:49 pmoh how I wish you still existed
the wind murmurs like your voice
as it rips past these dusty ruins
with the lies I can never turn down
the bones of these towers
they're stronger than the walls
which crumble before your blustery sounds
colours flaking like dry blood
soon they will be stripped
and I will have only
a bare skeleton of my city
dust-ridden collection of broken dreams
I could build it back again
if I could only find my melody
but the words are pulled from my tongue
the moment I open my mouth
I'm drowned in the memory
all the words you would not say to me
these have defeated me, in the end
pulling me beneath temptation
but the bones remain standing
cold pillars gleaming white
against the bloody sunset
ever defiant, calling me again
the wind murmurs like your voice
as it rips past these dusty ruins
with the lies I can never turn down
the bones of these towers
they're stronger than the walls
which crumble before your blustery sounds
colours flaking like dry blood
soon they will be stripped
and I will have only
a bare skeleton of my city
dust-ridden collection of broken dreams
I could build it back again
if I could only find my melody
but the words are pulled from my tongue
the moment I open my mouth
I'm drowned in the memory
all the words you would not say to me
these have defeated me, in the end
pulling me beneath temptation
but the bones remain standing
cold pillars gleaming white
against the bloody sunset
ever defiant, calling me again
