First and foremost, there should be more people in the world like this. (Makes me feel bad that I can barely do that for my co-workers, much less for complete strangers. Though I did drive Alana, who works next door to us, yesterday.)
Secondly, yeah, I know I haven't been posting much lately. I've barely even been on aim. It's kind of funny/cute when I hop online and I get people going "omg I missed you"/"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!" And all I can really say is "well, work, being social, or asleep". Because that's about all I've been doing. And when I do go online it's the lappy while curled in bed with a dvd on. I'm just so mentally exhausted right now. Physically? I seem great, but my brain? I'm starting to make stupid mistakes at work. I need to slow down and relax. But even today, my day off, I've got plans plans plans all of a sudden. It's gone from "maybe I'll vacuum and catch up on game stuff" to "shopping with mum and auntie and making dinosaur shaped gingerbread" plus the vacuuming and maybe some game stuff. Oy.
...that was a long paragraph. >.>
And now a meme:
"Post your top five bands/artists, the first song you heard of theirs, the song that made you fall in love, and your current favourite."
Let's just start by saying that this is hard because after my top 2, my top 5 varies depending on my mood. So this is very much my favourites RIGHT NOW, after the first 2.
1. David Bowie! I can't say for sure what the very first of his songs I ever heard was, since odds are I'd been listening to him my whole life and just never noticed him. I do know that "Space Oddity" was the song that started my obsession. I went "who is that?" and listened to the whole nest of CD my mum had. Then we started buying albums. I'm now well over 30... My favourite song (of all time) is his cover of the Pixies' "Cactus".
2. speena a.k.a. Yvonne Sisters. "Strange Days" was the current single when I got into them, and the first of their songs I heard. (Does that explain the name of my speena fansite?) I took a chance after hearing about 4 songs and bought the first album. I fell in love and haven't looked back. My favourite song is currently bouncing between "Hello, hi!" and "Calm Soul".
3. Mean Machine a super group that contains both YUKI and Chara? What's not to love! Unfortunately, they have but one album and will only ever have one album. I'm pretty sure the first of their songs I heard was "My Little Bag" (so addictive!) but my favourite is "Suuhaa".
4. The Beatles I've been listening to them longer than I can remember, so I don't know what my first song is. I do know some of my earliest Beatles' loves included "Michelle", "When I'm 64", and "Yellow Submarine". My favourite of their songs is "Day in the Life" though that may change as I expose myself to more and more of their album tracks...
5. Hawksley Workman because he's just my favourite Canadian singer/songwriter and it would be unfair not to include any of them. "Striptease" was the first of his songs I was exposed to, and I fell in love when I heard the album ((Last Night We Were) the Delicious Wolves) that it came off of. My favourite song? Er... I think it's "Alone Here (Ballad of Bunches of Things)"
And now... I must go shower, for I'm shopping this morn!
