Aug. 19th, 2009 10:19 amI've been putting my new paper journal to good use already. I love the feel of it, how sporadic it is. I'm not using the pages in order (though I am dating them) and every one so far has been in a different style. Sometimes there's sketches and drawings, sometimes it's just writing, sometimes a mix, sometimes hard to read and sometimes clear as day. It's a wonderful way to keep secrets and also a wonderful way to share them. I think, as time continues, I'd like to add in newspaper clippings and letters from friends. (So if I see you and hand you my little odd book and a pen, it means I want you to write/draw a page for me!)
I don't know why paper journals are so important to me, but I've always had 1-3 going at any given time. Usually each one is in a different style, too. Like I do have a lyrics journal and a short poem journal going right now, too. I haven't had a prose one in a while though, and most of my sketchbooks seem to have stalled out currently, so this one is a fun combo of those two things. (I really ought to get back to drawing and fill up all my half-empty sketchbooks, though.)
