gnutmeg: (light)
sitting in café
drinking from a soda
crowds pass by the window
as I sit but I'm still
thinking that I'm alright
for today
never needed anyone
to see me as I am
it's alright to be alone
and then I think of you

how many others
have sat behind this glass
and missed someone dear?
tap my nails on top the table
the drinking straw
like a plastic moon
falling into a carbonated sea
sipping at my soda
thinking I'm alright
but I always think of you
gnutmeg: (light)
thrown from the womb typing
can't you see we're alone
this modern obsession
with tick tock technology
it's tearing away at our souls
post modern isolation
it's a madness
depression for the masses
we're tactilely impaired
with all our textual implications
meaning nothing
like the hands between our walls
left empty and begging
aching to be punched
would you rather bleed or cry?
technological loneliness
we are left blind
by ten thousand lit screens
two million emails
and we still haven't said a thing
that a single caress
wouldn't express better

am I dying because you won't touch me?
