life goes on

I had planned to go to the Bath Guide shop today... except I thought that they opened at 2:30 when it turns out they actually closed at 12:30. Oops! How'd I manage to mix that up? Ah well, next weekend!

I went to the farmer's market today. Sampled a little of the local soft cheese. Tastes a lot like Brie but the rind is uber bitter. Might be nice baked. Might have to get myself a little once I have a fridge et al. I did pick up a few jars of local preserves, though. I suppose it could have waited for next week, but they looked so good! They'll be really nice for making sauces and stuff. One's a nice pineapple preserve which would be really good in sweet and sour or teriyaki dishes.

Sorry. Cooking is a small obsession of mine.

I saw an ad for an office-type administration job. Working weekdays with weekends off. Could be perfect... use the weekends to travel... I'm sort of on the fence for whether I want to apply or not. I'd be working in the back room of a furniture type store processing orders and payments and such. I'm not familiar with the program they're bringing in to do it with, but I am pretty good with computers and pick things up quickly. I dunno, advice? I suspect it'd pay better than a lot of the other retail jobs around here. Also, as someone who is interested in management it might be good to get some experience in administration type stuff.

Yay or nay?

That sounds like a really good option for you. I know getting my job at the computer lab has been the best thing that's happened to me.

That doesn't sound like too bad a job. In my experience those "back room" kind of jobs can be nice and quiet, and usually employers are more flexible in terms of appearance and what you do (i.e. play music while you work and so on). I'd give it a go. Worst thing that could happen is you find you don't like it and you look for another job...

Always worth applying if the pay is good enough ^^;

I'd think it's worth at least applying, for the admin experience.

I say it can't hurt to try for it.

go for it

worst case scenario is that you get the job and then decide you'd rather do something else.

I say apply but keep looking. You may not want to venture into retail territory now that you've escaped it but it's a good place to meet people who are around your age and are interested in similar things. Although I don't really know how important that is for you....also, the people at the office place could all be young and hip....or something. :P

The girls are coming over tonight for baked cheese!
