What's your favourite book? Favourite author? Genre to read? Genre to write?

Not really outside my comfort zone, just not something I chat a lot about. Let's go through these in order. My favourite book, ever since I read the damn thing, is Robin Hobb's "Royal Assassin". It's the third book of her Farseer trilogy. I just love the characters and the over all mood of it. Unfortunately, I'd have to spoil the book for those of you who've never read it to tell you what I really love about it. Let's just say the ending really strikes a chord for me.

My favourite author varies. I have a few I go between, depending on my mood. Robin Hobb, J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft, and Anne Rice. Yeah, shut up. I love Anne Rice. Other authors I love, but aren't in my top four, include: Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, Terry Brooks,
Piers Anthony, Madeleine L'Engle, and Shakespeare. There's also one particular book by James Finn Garner that I think everyone needs to read. It changed my life in high school!

The two genres I love best to read are horror and fantasy. I'm also a rather big fan of non-fiction stuff. If I had to pick a number one choice: probably fantasy.

Writing... that one's hard to decide. I mean, I love to write fantasy with just a hint of that horror element to it, but the things I do most often are more... I don't even know how to describe. Autobiographical? You have to understand that the thing I write most is poetry. I also write slash/yaoi fiction, though not often anymore. Someday, I'm going to figure out how to get the fantasy novel that's been living in my head for well over a decade now onto paper. Can we just say I like to write whatever my mood feels like best? Because that's the most honest answer.

I used to read a lot of Anne Rice. Not so much, but I still have them. I also luv Madeleine L'Engle.

What really defines a horror book? I've read two authors whom I enjoy and their series are in the Horror section in Chapters. I find them more fantasy... no real tones of horror. Or maybe its subtle horror?

I find a lot of horror and fantasy do touch on each other, it's probably why I like both so much, but I think it is that subtle fear that makes it separate.

The Faith Hunter sounds more like something I would read. In fact, it sounds a lot like the Angel Sanctuary manga, if you've read them at all? I've got the whole series and have read all but the last two.

I strongly recommend Charles de Lint!

I realized I've had this word document just sitting here waiting for polishing, so I've given it another go. Unfortunately it's not all that polished, but I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer. Part of my problem is I'm not sure who the implied subject is, "you" or "me," also when I put the lines I've translated separately together, I'm not sure it makes sense together 8D
Anyway, I'd be happy to explain anything on IM, what parts of speech the words are and such, that would probably help in understanding.

And thank you so much for this. It's so hard to find any sort of translations of speena stuff. Someday I'm going to find someone to do them all for my website, but I keep getting distracted by life instead of doing it. ^^;

This sounds along the lines of what Kanako was writing on the album this is from. (The only like 3 other speena songs I've ever seen translated were also off of it.) There seems to be someone or something she was singing to who had left her.

I really wish I knew more than a dozen words of Japanese so I could fully enjoy their music.
