work: yet another waste of my time
May. 9th, 2003 08:13 pmSo I arrive at work a little bit early today. ( 3:20 instead of 3:30 ) No big deal.
Of course my new bosses (a married couple) and my old boss (jerkasses dumbasauralophosus) where all there. Have I ever mentioned my fear of crowds? (Our store is very small.
At 4:20 I looked at the clock in my work. It read "3:12". Right. Forget that it was fast. And not changed for daylight savings as no one knows how to change it. O.o Gave myself a little encouragement at this point "only 3 hours left, today is a short shift, you can do this!" Old boss leaves. THANK ERU!
5:07 (or 4:19...) 2 hours left. Oh gods how I wanted to leave. Thought about my 8 hour shift tomorrow. Really wanted to cry.
Ten minutes later, I hear the distinctive "Jayshe-ka!" That is my new boss (the wife of the couple) trying to call my name so I can explain to her how the store works. Again.
5:30 Just an hour and a half left... my brain is fried by this point. I start havin paranoid wonderings about what they are saying about me while they sit in the back speaking in Korean/Chinese. (we're not sure which one they are)
Served customers, tried to remain calm and sane. The Chinese food store next door smelled soooo good. I got terribly hungry.
Around 6:30 ish old boss comes back again. >.< He helps new bosses learn about doing taxes and shit like that.
I end up counting both cashes and closing the store by myself at 7.
On the plus side, my mommy made me Chinese food for supper. Oh, and tomorrow is my last day of work!!!
( my sexual preference, eh? )
