I have like a million things to scan today. Oy. Stupid knowledge portfolio.

Mom said another furnace guy was supposed to be here around one. She also should be back from grocery shopping by now. I am a bit concerned by this. I have no clue what is wrong with the furnace and will not be able to explain it when the guy gets here. She better be back soon.

Urmn. But back to scanning for now.

How many other people do you know that can honestly say they have a letter both from the Governer General of Canada and the (former) Prime Minister of Canada?

So. I got myself a new soundcard today. Windows XP's audio profile in the control panel informs me that I still don't have a device even though I just installed it, and the device manager claims it is running perfectly. What. The. Fuck. Is. Wrong. With. My. Machine?!

XP is dying tomorrow. I don't care if my computer crashes less now. I NEED MY FUCKING SOUND TO RUN HALF THE PROGRAMS I USE. Things I can no longer do include: playing movie files, editing movie file, converting movie files, listening to sound files, editing sound files, playing 80% of my games, burning CDs/DVDs and watching DVDs/VCDs.

Needless to say. I'm rather frustrated at the moment. Even to the point of tears.

At least I can still get a refund on the soundcard at Staples tomorrow. "One day old, Windows XP won't detect it!"

On the plus side, I'll probably have some nice Hyde icons from the new SL PV tomorrow, after I visit the other computer.
