gnutmeg: (make a wish)
So, yesterday? Every bit as amazing as I'd hoped and more!

For some odd reason, I decided not to bring my book for the train yesterday and am I ever glad I didn't! It forced me to watch outside as we went and I finally saw one of the chalk horses I've been dying to see. Actually! I saw two, but the second one was really faded. But the first one, gods, it was just so... I can't even explain it. I really felt it on a spiritual level, though. It was intense. So that alone was enough to make my day and yet there was more good things to come.

I ended up getting to Pax Lodge a wee bit later than I'd meant to. Partly because I still don't know my left from right and spent 20 mins walking the wrong way then walking back. Once there, I sort of wandered and explored after a nice lady explained what was going on. I took part in some of the games and activities and met Guides and Scouts from all over the place. I also managed to do some badge trading so I've new ones for my camp blanket. I also picked up some at the store. And extras. Noelle, Becky, and Jen are all getting one - you said you'd get one later, Andy? Did you want one, Kate? Any other Guides/Scouts on my flist that would be interested in a world center patch?

After my 2 hoursish at Pax Lodge, I met up with Aleks and we went out for dinner (with a quick stop at her uni so I could see it) at a place called the Hare & Tortoise. So. Good. I've been seriously lacking decent Asian food (well, aside from what I cook but even then I don't have the stuff to make my favourites most of the time), so it was niiiice. We also had Japanese ice cream: a scoop each of green tea, chestnut, and black sesame. A little nutmeg secret: black sesame is one of those flavours that makes nutmeg foodgasm every bloody time. It was heaven!

...Though, I didn't really take pictures again. >.>; I took one of the outside of Pax Lodge but the inside wasn't terribly remarkable and I've never been a fan of keeping random pictures of people I don't know and will never see/talk to again. And I've got a couple of my white horses. But that's all. I forgot to take one with Aleks. BUT we should be going to Mme. Tousade's (?sp) at some point and WILL take pictures as it would be sacrilege not to, there. ;)
