gnutmeg: (beauty rubbing off)
Well, one of the things I've been doing in the midst of my trying to sleep off my exhaustion and procrastinating from job hunting is catching up on my hobby of Asian films. Much to everyone's surprise (most of all my own) I've started watching some non-horror. I know. I rarely even watch English stuff that isn't horror. Anyway. Here's a couple of movies I really enjoyed.

Sakuran was a really fun movie. It's all about the gorgeous costumes and the sassy lead actress (Anna Tsuchiya!). I thought it was silly and little bit shallow, but I did enjoy it. Highly recommended, actually.

Hu die fei/Linger was picked up due to my Li Bingbing obsession. I wasn't sure I'd like it, since it's a romance-based plot, but it wasn't bad. Actually. I totally cried. It was embarrassing. Thankfully, I was watching by myself.

Right. Now off to bed, since I've got to be up early. (Checking on the van/driving dad to work in the morning.)
gnutmeg: (dark)
darling
sit back and watch
as I become a dying mass
since nobody else will

startling
attack and watch
us fight because of crying missed
since no bodies rest still

our eyes shine like coins
silver and gold
lying under coffer-like lashes
expressive

but our lies shine like skeletons
silvered and old
lying under coffin-like ashes
expensive
gnutmeg: (slash)
I must weary you
with all my labyrinthine logic
I apologize
these deathly eyes
see nought but blood
that's just how I am, you see

star-craving mad
dying for another drop of language
ripping out
one delicious word at a time
to brighten my night
making my day

can you yet sleep
when my dreams are so loud
circling like a glove
they hold me in
so I cannot hold your sleepy head
nor give you rest

I am sorry
you speak too kindly
to keep up with my lunacy
as it waxes and wanes in time
forgive me
my lullabies won't kill you
