Hyde says XP to all the sucky people

Yo. When did the L'Arc~en~Ciel and Hyde fandoms explode and why did they only attract idiots? They're starting to look scarily like the Gackt fandom... (not that all Gackt fans are idiots, I know quite a few great ones, but there are a lot you must admit) ...I'm not even going to start on the gakuhai fandom.

You know, it's probably my fault. Two Hyde fans starting the gakuhai community... yeah... far too influential for our own good, I fear.


I have to say, I'm glad to hear that larcenciel has instituted new rules similar to those we've had at gxh for a while. Almost makes a girl want to go back to the community. Now if only _hydeist were to install such rules. But, alas, the mods there are still fairly new to the fandom. And started as Gackt fans. Suddenly everything is crystal clear.

What I really want to know is why the "Hyde" community is dedicated to primarily Laruku and gakuhai? I mean... shouldn't it be about Hyde's solo career? There's already much better and older communities for the other two.


Just a thought. If I've offended anyone. Well. Tough. Get a thicker skin.

me is not a _hydeist comm member as that's exactly the image i was getting from the "come join this comm" post... so i stayed out of it.

laruku comm is now so much quieter with new rules.

Never have been a member, either, in fact I was somewhat against it's creation in the first place when I heard about it. (Still made them link my site, though. At least the misled fans there will have a chance to see what it's like to actually acknowledge his solo career.) I just check on it now and then out of morbid curiousity.

I might join again. I dunno. I've been away from it for well over a year now...

I am started to get bugged by some of the posts ppl put in the new Hyde community. Like one said that some of the bg's or settings that Hyde has in some of the pictures, clearly proves his colourblindness. It was the one where he was in the room with all the clocks with all the different times and stuff. I don't think they noticed all the art stuff around him. The picture is supposed to be like that. >.>

I don't think they noticed that Hyde doesn't get full say on his own wardrobe for most photo shoots or that he doesn't pick the backgrounds, either. They're all marketing devices employed by the company/Laruku's manager.

Well, this is just my opinion, but I think it might have to do with MoonChild being released. I remember alot of "OMG, Moonchild's awesome and I discovered Gackt(and/or) Hyde and they're so sexy together!...They make music too right?" Posts in dears/gakuhai after that.

I think Hyde is cool, but I don't really like Laruku. I haven't heard little of Hyde's solo stuff, so I can't say anything about that.

As for Gackt, I like most of his stuff, his persona's very entertaining, and yes, he's attractive. >.> I can't deny that I find GacktxHyde much more entertaining than dears.

I've got no clue what type of fan I am or if what I do or say would piss off both of them, but I hope not.^^;

Yeah... I noticed many of those, too. Although I'm sure Hyde's making a lot of money off Gackt's fanbase... I don't think he's being properly appreciated anymore.

Personally, I joined the gakuhai fandom around the time that MoonChild came out in theatres in Japan. When they were still doing interviews and such, you know? When I bought Roentgen, it was only about a year old. 666 was new and exciting news. A lot of "fans" these days haven't been around that long, they don't have any history and they don't seem to care. As long as he's hot and they can get his music for free. I bet if they saw one of my reviews or essays, they would be confused when I started referring to the lyrics and their meanings.

Sorry. I'm just quite disappointed in where the fandom is going, in general. I fell in love with Hyde because of his solo work and it gets so overlooked...

Besides Hello and Shallow Sleep, nope. It's on my list of things to investigate along with Malice Mizer (I'm like...working backwards with everything^^;). I was planning on looking into that next after I got Chacha's Air album e_e;; I haven't had a job in forever so money for albums are not rolling in. =_= I have a big chunk of Laruku on a cd a couple years ago...I didn't even know he went solo till I started hanging out at the GakuHai community.^^;;

Sorry. I'm just quite disappointed in where the fandom is going, in general. I fell in love with Hyde because of his solo work and it gets so overlooked...

I loved Hyde's solo on first listen, but it took me most of a year before I really got into Laruku.

I guess I'm backwards. I started out liking laruku back in 1999 or so, and then when hyde came out with his solo albums, I didn't listen to them at all until when 666 came out (end of 2003?), THEN I bought 666 and went back and bought Roentgen. And then I also went back and watched Moon Child, but I still don't care to know anything about Gackt.

I got into the fandom late, in general (early 2003), and a lot of my previous musical influences had me more drawn towards the image Hyde protrayed in his solo than his work with Laruku. And yes, 666 came out Dec 3, 2003, so. ^^;;

I think most people started and Laruku and worked to the solos, not the other way around. ^^;; And I don't blame you for not being interested in Gackt. I think I only sort of like maybe 5 or 6 of his songs and I've heard practically everything he's done.

I agree that if it's meant to be for Hyde, it should be for Hyde and Hyde alone. There is already a wonderful Gakuhai community. There are several Laruku communities. There's a Haitsu community. FOR GOD'S SAKES, IF THERE'S GOING TO BE A HYDE COMMUNITY, PLEASE LET IT BE ABOUT HYDE!

I was a Gackt fan before I was a Hyde fan, personally (although now I'm more of a Hyde fan. I think it's your fault. XD). And it scares me how many insane people out there are just into Gackt or into Hyde or L'Arc~en~Ciel just because they guys look good. I loved their music first. That's what I'm in the fandom for. The music. It's just a plus that they happen to be nice-looking. ^_^

But, yeah. Scary fangirls get on my nerves. I can go all fangirly as much as any sane (or insane) girl, but the key point is: the music comes first.

And that's my two cents worth. Or one cent worth. Or maybe it's not worth anything, but it's my opinion.

*nods* At times, I'm tempted to make a Hyde solo community... but... it would have little to no membership and I know it. Though, if I end up making a BBS for TnK it would very much would be focused on Hyde's solo works and I would bite people who argued.

I'd heard Gackt first (via Malice Mizer and, I think, Vanilla) but I was far from a fan. Then a friend sent me Laruku's C'Est la Vie. ALthough I liked the song, I wasn't really interested in the band so much as Hyde's voice, so then she fed me Evergreen and I was totally hooked. The ironic thing? That friend hates Laruku and only sort of likes Hyde solo. But for me, I was totally about Hyde's solo. I only liked a little Laruku at first. They grew on me.

*nods* That's why I don't join those communities... and why I make things like coffeetabletalk, to try and prove you can be a fan without obsessing with their looks.


To tell you a little known fact: the first time I saw a picture of Hyde, I shrugged and went back to what I was doing. Totally not impressed. But at least I didn't think he was ugly, like Kia did. XD

GacktxHyde community: Focuses primarily on Gackt and Hyde as a couple, but it is okay to post things about just Hyde or just Gackt, because... it's about them, ne?

The Laruku communities: Focuses primarily on Laruku as a whole, but it's also okay to discuss the individual members, because they ARE Laruku.

Dears: It's supposed to be about Gackt, right? JUST Gackt. If someone wants to blab about Cha or You or whoever else, that's what the GacktJOB community is for (*blink* There IS a GacktJOB community, right? If not, I just made an ass out of myself...)

Same goes for this new Hyde community. It's supposed to be about Hyde, ne? God. If someone wants to say, "OMFG, HE LOOKS SO GREAT WITH GACKT!" Or, "OMFG, HE LOOKS SO GREAT WITH TETSU!", that's what the GacktxHyde and the HydexTetsu communities are for.

I just ramble on and on, don't I? ^_^ I'm sorry. I feel rather blah today and the fact that silly fangirls get on my nerves isn't helping.

Hyde's voice is beautiful. I love how he's so... versatile. I believe that's the word I'm looking for. One moment, he can be singing something soft, the next moment, he's shaking things up. That's why I love Roentgen and 666 so much. Completely different albums, completely different sides of Hyde. I love them both.

I didn't think much of Hyde either when I first saw him. I first saw him in an advertisement for Moon Child (well, a pic for Moon Child online, anyway), and I just didn't... I don't know. I didn't think much of his looks, at first.

Now, he's so pretty to me. ^_^ I wish my hair could be that silky and beautiful.

But, yes, I agree with you completely. I once got yelled at in dears_icons because I was asked why I didn't want to make ChaCha icons and I said that because it was a Gackt community, not a Gackt-and-people-who-work-with-him one.

Know what's funny? The first time I saw him, it was because a friend of mine was looking for a PB (played by - basically an icon person) for an RP character of hers and we were looking for blonde Japanese people. I told her to use Shinya (of DeG) instead as he was prettier. XD (I was shown a Roentgen era white-blonde pic. Who would ever know this would come to be my second favourite Hyde look?)

Seriously, though, I think a large part of what makes him attractive to people like us is that we can see him through his music, not just what he wears and does. (In my case, I also think Bowie and Mozart are sexy as well ^^;;)

I was a Gackt fan to start with :P Gackt was one of my first tastes of Japanese music and I fell in love as soon as I heard. I'm a huge Gackt fangirl, really, but oddly enough I don't scream and flail about him the way I do about the Laruku boys. Maybe it's because it's an over four years long love affair, and Laruku are new additions to my life. I don't know.

But yeah. I'm so sick and tired of the comms and the "OMG THEY ARE SO HOTTT TOGETHER IM LYK THEIR BIGGEST FAN & *insert random crap that no-one gives a fucking damn about here*" or the "OMG I HAVE LOOKED EVERYWHERE & LYK I TOTALLY CAN'T FIND LYRICS 4 ORANGE NO TIEYO" and it's like -___- it's not that hard, since in about 2 seconds flat I found minako's senshigakuen site, with every single Gackt song romanised and translated -____- Granted, Hyde's songs proved a little harder, but sheesh it's not that hard.

I also can't stand the people who get into the music just because the guy/people are hot. Shallow, much? Sure, visual is a part of the music in many cases, but music is still music and you need to be able to enjoy that music even when the visual is taken away, or even when the visual is completely unappealing. *sigh*. Why do people have to be so shallow?

I don't even bother reading the comms these days. I glance over to see if anyone with more than 2 brain cells has posted anything, and then that it's. Half the time I don't even bother reading the fanfics because they're so pathetic, unimaginative and badly written that I don't know a word to use to describe them.

As for the Hyde comm not being primarily about his solo work ... I find that incredibly odd. I would have thought that they would have been focusing on his solo work and acting like Laruku didn't exist. Now I'm sitting here scratching my head (literally, actually, since my head is itchy XD) and wondering why that is. Maybe it's because Hyde info is harder to find than Laruku info?

Regarding Hyde info and lyrics being hard to find... well, I don't claim to have one of the largest Hyde solo sites on the net for no reason, you know. :P The Hyde community was started by three individuals, of which two I know as a fact are little better than drooling shriekers more than half the time.

The problem is people don't know how to do things like, you know, use google, and expect people like yours truly to do it all for them.

And I'm not even going to touch the shallow comment. There's nothing to add.


BTW, I did say that not all Gackt fans were idiots, just many.

Oh I know you said not all. But yeah, there are many. Way too many.

And *nods* lyrics aren't hard to find, at all. I had no trouble, and I have the lyrics for all of Hyde's stuff, and romaji for all of Laruku's songs, translations for most, and both for Gackt's. None of it involved much searching. People are just so stupid.

I resent it when people ask me to walk them through things that I've had to find out for myself.
