Aww. I was just watching What Not to Wear (I love that they show it at lunch time now, so that I can watch my favourite show while I eat, but anyway...) and on this episode, the girl's boyfriend came on at the end to propose to her. ;~; It was so so sweet. Admittedly, I'd have personally killed the guy for proposing on TV, but it was good for her. He knew her well enough to know she'd like that.

Kind of makes me think about silly things. Like a person's ideal proposal. For the girls, how would you want to be proposed to? (or guys, even, what you'd want to do for your girl?)

For me, I'd want to be curled up in bed with him, his arms around me. And he'd ask me then. No ring or anything, I'm not a big believer in tradition, anyway. I'd just want it to be quiet and private and between the only two people it should really matter to, anyway.

Yeah. Umn. I've also been watching a lot of TLC's Perfect Proposal lately, too. No one worry. I'm not, like, planning to run off and get married right this second. I think.

<EDIT> And now my mom's new nickname for me is "IT girl" since I'm capable of setting up a computer in under 5 minutes. Oh. There's a skill. :P </EDIT>

I've been known to ask people to elope randomly, so I felt it was the appropriate comment to add. ;)

Being in IT is more than just setting up a computer though... Don't be misled by your mother!

In a lot of places, the poor IT guy also is in charge of fixing the fax machine, wiring the room, fixing printers, etc. that probably aren't the IT guy's job...

Well aware, which is why I chose not to go into the field even though I'd probably be good at it.

Just as every woman needs a little pink dress, so too should she need a little pink icon! ;)

Rings are shiney and I like shiney things therefore I want a ring. But not gold, because gold looks awful on me. So a shiney silver ring ^.^ And hah, my perfect proposal would be basically the same as yours.

I agree with the "no gold" thing. It doesn't really suit my colouring or the colours I prefer to wear. (Though I do wear gold hopes for earrings, mostly because of sensitivty issues. :() Frankly, I couldn't care less about a ring. It could be made out of string as long as it's coming from a heart that's true. Or just not exist. Whatever. Engagement rings seem such a waste to me, anyway, as you're only really supposed to wear it until you get married.

Wedding rings, on the other hand, are a different story.

I dunno, I like the idea of a ring. But I think that both people should wear one. I never have understood why an engagement ring is only ever worn by the woman, that just seems rather odd to me.

I think that's a wonderful kind of proposal. Nothing fancy or shiny or showy. Just... nice and private. And like you said, between the two that really matter. ^_^

Yeah. I've always been a "keep the personal life personal" kind of girl, so it really makes sense to me.

On a stormy beach. Or as we walked through a moonlight, snowy night. There would be inclement weather of some kind.

Either way, he'd give me his coat, urge me to get his gloves out so my hands weren't cold, and there would be the box, and then the proposal.

I'm a lady of simple yet elegant tastes.

That's seems so romantic and old-fashioned like. And totally you. Love it.

Proposal...I haven't that far into my life. XD but if I had to choose, I'd want it to be done privately. Maybe to be taken out to an outdoor place and we go off somewhere where he proposes. Then after I'm done freaking out to meet everyone else. :3

lol I only really thought of it after watching too much TLC daytime. ^^; If it makes you feel better. I've only planned that far. I have no idea what I'd do for a wedding or anything. Except I know that I probably wouldn't wear white. Either something asian or something midievaly. And not too expensive. I'm sorry, but there's better things to spend money on then a dress I'd wear once.

lol. I need to stop.
