So my dad told us something interesting he did earlier this week. Apparently, he picked up a hitch hiker on the way back from work. He had spoken to the guy, who was apparently from the french side and was in construction/consulting (I forget exactly what) and his boss was going to drive him home but his boss ended up deciding to drink at a friend's house. So this guy was left on his own to get home... but he'd left his wallet in his boss's truck so didn't even have money for a bus.

Anyway, my dad ended up driving him to a bus station and gave him $20 (partly because he didn't have anything smaller, but he was still willing to do it, so), telling him to grab some dinner and a bus home to his wife. The man asked my dad for his phone number to return the favour, but my dad just said to do the same for someone else sometime and left it at that.

I was shocked when I heard this, to say the least. This is a side of my father I don't get to see a lot. I usually get the angry and tired and stressed out man. Who yells at us.

So yeah.

I missed this entry. That was really cool of your dad.

While I'm here, I should mention, do you know your posts never show up on my friends page? I have to come directly to your LJ to see if you have updated. Maybe because of the custom profile thingy. It tends to confuse the fpage.

Anyway... that anecdote reminded me of the movie Pay It Forward. Ever see that?

I did not know that. I'm not sure what would be causing it. Unless you've changed your settings so that only a certain modified friend list shows up when you go there, though, it should show everyone.

And no, I have not seen that movie.
