My gods. How many days in a row are these Brits going to set off fireworks? According to my book, the actual holiday (Guy Fawkes Night) isn't actually until the 5th. I suppose I should ask about where/what celebrations are going on here in Bath for it.

So I've booked myself an appointment to go see one flat for monday. (SELF: Monday, noon, meet at BLC.) Haven't heard back from any other company yet, but I suppose it is the weekend now. Even if I keep forgetting these exist.

Spent today walking around a lot. Ended up going into the abbey-turned-church here. It was kinda neat, for a church. I wandered past the roman baths, too, but didn't go in. Now I know where they are, though. (FYI: Bath has the only natural springs in England - thus its name - and was colonized in Roman times) I spent many hours wandering around downtown bath, today. I checked out the farmer's market, which was neat. I also ended up booking myself onto a bus to stonehenge for tomorrow. (I plan to go many a time whilst I'm here. To see stonehenge is a childhood dream of mine.)

One thing that I just can't seem to get over no matter how many times I see it is how vegetarian/vegan friendly they are here. Things are marked as being "vegetarian friendly" or "vegan" right on the packaging all the time. And there are specifically veggie restaurants and stores. Like lots of them, not just the rare one like back home.

My mum said when she went to Stonehenge in Highschool it wasn't corded off and you could touch it.

I've heard a dirty little rumour that they let people touch the stones on the solistices. I'm definitely going to see if it's true because I would love to do that.

Well I guess the brits don't have fourth of July so they'll make the best of another holiday that involves fireworks. XD;

I'll probably go eventually. I suspect it's just a big swimming pool looking thing, though. That's basically what these sorts of things are.

I always did want to go to Bath, but I never made it there. London was kinda my home :3

I'm definitely glad I decided I wanted to live in Bath. There's lots of historical stuff around here. Plus it's a tourist town so there's lots of places I can work, once I start job hunting.

My mom and dad went to stonehenge about 8 months ago, it was all corded off and you couldn't get very close to it. My mom said it was still nice to see even if she thought it was bigger then it was. Hope you have a great time! I think I might be going that way durring the summer time.

I hear that they take all the cords off at solistices, so I'm going to try and go during one of those since I would love to touch the stones. But I see myself going a lot, especially since it's so close to here.

I once spent a whole soggy day in that abbey...I couldn't afford to get into the baths. The fact the floor and walls were lined with memorials meant that at least I had something to read!

If you go to the underneath part, it explains how they used to bury people right under the floor of the church, and how the how place is completely full of burials. I guess the abbey grounds never had a proper cemetery. They eventually opened one further away. So all those memorials were the dead people you were walking on.
