in an unmarked grave
it was carelessness alone

it made mother angry
but I thought it
fit testimony
for a woman

who caused us panic
many times
over the years
decades

it caused many arguments
and discussions
as we fought
to fix the mistake

my family was
as grandmother often caused
torn apart
by the resulting commotion

we all loved her
but it was
difficult
deciding how best to remember
